A Message from David

Founder, President &
Artistic Director
of Opera Belcanto Company
The year 2006
brought the realization of a new opera company in South Simcoe:
Opera Belcanto.
I sincerely thank
Deputy Mayor Rick Milne, and Councillor Richard Norcross who
gave me the green light and support to go ahead with the idea.
I offer sincere
thanks to the volunteer board, town representatives who lent
support, and the Opera Belcanto team and choir members for their
dedication, hard work and encouragement in building this new
company. I also offer thanks to volunteers, supporters, and
the community, in particular Reverend Rudy and the congregation
at Trinity United Church, Beeton - for generously giving us the
home where we practiced weekly.
With hard work and
dedication we hope to bring new musical and cultural life to
South Simcoe, introducing a young generation to opera. As well,
we hope to prepare young talent for a future in opera with Opera
Academy workshop programs, and perhaps eventually a professional
level conservatory.
